About Us
What is Room 102?
Room 102 is an online database that includes information and links to thousands of services and groups which otherwise might be difficult and time consuming to find. The emphasis is on organisations and services that help people to improve their health and well-being.
What sorts of organisations are in Room 102?
As Room 102 is a health and well-being database, we consider everything that people need to improves their health and well-being. This can cover a huge range of topics from day care and lunch clubs to days out, social groups, health services, social services, sports clubs, housing, personal care services, counselling and therapy, alternative therapists, transport, holidays, helplines, advice and information providers.
Why is it called Room 102?
The idea is that Room 101 is where you put or find all the things that you never want to see again - the worst things in the world. In contrast, Room 102 is where you find all the things that you really need and really want.
Do organisations have to pay to be included in Room 102?
No, there is no charge. We will not be contacting you to persuade to take out advertising or any of the other scams that you might have come across elsewhere. Room 102 is managed by a registered charity, The Care Forum, and we are not a profit-making organisation. The only thing that we ask of you is that you check your record every 6 months to ensure that it is up to date. You will receive a special login for your record only when you are listed on Room 102, so this is a quick and easy process that can be done via the Internet. We will send you a reminder, so you don't have to worry about remembering to do this.
Quite simply, we want as many organisations as possible that are relevant to be included. The more information we have in Room 102 that is relevant for our users, the closer we come to achieving our aims.
Can I have a look inside Room 102?
If you want to look at all the data on Room 102, you will need to subscribe.
Whilst it is free to have your organisation listed in Room 102, we do make a charge for subscribing to the database. Subscription rates vary depending on the number of users in your organisation, and whether you are a voluntary, statutory or commercial organisation. To get a quote for your organisation, please contact Sales on 0117 958 9322 or sales@room102.org.uk
We do have a demonstration version of the database that you can have a look around. You get a 48-hour trial, and it is completely free. The only difference is that the demonstration database does not contain information about real organisations - it contains fictional data, so you can see how the database works. To sign up for the demonstration database please go to the demonstration sign up page.
I'm confused. You're telling me that it's free to be included but then you are telling me that I have to pay?
It is free to have your organisation or services included in Room 102. You only have to pay if you want to see everybody else's information as well as your own.
How can I get my organisation or service into Room 102?
The easiest way to do this is by entering basic information about your service here. You will receive a communication from us, either confirming that you are already on Room 102 or giving you a unique login for your service, so that you can add and amend your details at any time.
